The Story That’s Also [Maybe] the Discovery of the Century
Red Rex AVAILABLE NOW!
Welcome to Kosmosa.
Most people have never heard of Kosmosa. But it was one of the ancient world’s greatest civilizations. Not merely because of its palaces, warriors, and explorers…
The Kosmosans had dinosaurs.
About Red Rex
On a hidden island where dinosaurs roam free, Carthus is trapped. The 14 year-old orphan has only one chance to escape his dreary life of herding stegosaurs: getting into Koganri, Kosmosa’s legendary school of dinosaur riding.
But after he gets to Koganri, he realizes his adventure has only just begun.

Discovering the Kosmosa Scrolls
The upcoming novel Red Rex is among the most significant works of world literature.
Maybe.
It could also be the crazed ramblings of a lunatic. Whatever it is, I’ve had it in a shoebox under my bed since 2010.
I should probably explain.
My name is Matthew Mellema. I’m a lawyer and novelist in Colorado Springs. Along with my illustrator brother, Brian, I create middle grade books about adventure and mystery.
Back in the day, when I was a visiting student at Oxford University, I made the greatest literary discovery since Beowulf. I think.
That discovery is a partial translation of something called “The Kosmosa Scrolls.” I found it deep in the tunnels of Oxford’s oldest library. Beneath a ping pong table, as a matter of fact.
If you want the full story of how I found it (and why I took so long to share it), watch the video!
What Are the Kosmosa Scrolls?
As I originally found them, the Kosmosa Scrolls were a stack of yellowed papers in an old tin box.
The author of those papers was Sir Alfred Lemon, a conspiracy theorist from Victorian England. Sir Alfred claimed these papers were a translation of an ancient scroll which he discovered in 1891.
This original scroll—if it ever existed—has since been lost to history.
Through the years, I’ve done a decent amount of research on Sir Alfred: what made him tick, how he discovered the Kosmosa Scrolls, and how the Scrolls were lost.
Oh, and you’re probably wondering whether the Kosmosa Scrolls are real. I’ve been researching this for years, and the investigation is still going on.
But weirdly enough, I think the Scrolls are real.
